The Albuquerque Roadrunner Tournament (TART) is an LGBTQIA+ bowling tournament that brings together bowlers from Albuquerque, throughout New Mexico, across the Southwest, and from around the country for a weekend of bowling, friendly competition, friendship, and community.
TART is about much more than bowling. The tournament provides a welcoming, inclusive, and affirming environment for LGBTQIA+ bowlers and our allies, creating opportunities to meet new people, build lasting friendships, and celebrate the diversity of our bowling community. Bowlers of all backgrounds, identities, and skill levels are welcome.
Through competition, social activities, communication, and educational opportunities, TART promotes the sport of bowling while enriching the lives of its participants. The tournament also gives us an opportunity to showcase Albuquerque and New Mexico to visitors from around the country, helping promote tourism and introducing participants to the culture, hospitality, and unique character of our state.
Giving back is also an important part of TART’s mission. Portions of proceeds from previous tournaments have been donated to organizations serving the LGBTQIA+ community, youth, veterans, animals, and New Mexicans in need. Past recipients have included Casa Q, the Transgender Resource Center of NM (TGRCNM), Roadrunner Food Bank, the Central New Mexico USBC Youth League, Paws and Stripes, Valencia Belen Organization to Promote Animal Welfare (VBPaw), and Luvin’ Labs.
For TART, bowling is what brings us together, but community, inclusion, friendship, and giving back are what make the tournament special.
